# Igor Khait

**Igor Khait** (August 2, 1963 – March 28, 2016)[1] was an American animator and animation producer.

After graduating from [UC Santa Cruz](/source/UC_Santa_Cruz) with a [Bachelor of Arts](/source/Bachelor_of_Arts) in fine art, and an additional BA in film graphics and animation from the [California Institute of the Arts](/source/California_Institute_of_the_Arts), Khait started his career in 1989, working at [Amblin Entertainment](/source/Amblin_Entertainment). While there, he took part in the production of the short-lived [CBS](/source/CBS) series *[Family Dog](/source/Family_Dog_(TV_series))*, which was produced by [Steven Spielberg](/source/Steven_Spielberg) and [Tim Burton](/source/Tim_Burton), as well as the short *[A Wish for Wings That Work](/source/A_Wish_for_Wings_That_Work)*.

Throughout the 1990s, Khait worked as a production manager on *[Bebe's Kids](/source/Bebe's_Kids)* and *[Quest for Camelot](/source/Quest_for_Camelot)*, as well as *[Atlantis: The Lost Empire](/source/Atlantis:_The_Lost_Empire)* in the 2000s before working as an animation producer on projects such as *[Brother Bear](/source/Brother_Bear)*, *[Leroy & Stitch](/source/Leroy_%26_Stitch)*, *[Everyone's Hero](/source/Everyone's_Hero)*, *[Gnomeo & Juliet](/source/Gnomeo_%26_Juliet)* and *[The Lego Movie](/source/The_Lego_Movie)*. Prior to his death, Khait was working on the animated film *[Sing](/source/Sing_(2016_American_film))*.

Khait died on March 28, 2016, after a year-long battle with [pancreatic cancer](/source/Pancreatic_cancer) at the age of 52.[2][3] The end credits of *Sing* are dedicated to him.
