# Igando

**Igando**Listen also known as **Igando road** is a community located in the [Alimosho](/source/Alimosho) local government area of [Lagos State](/source/Lagos_State), South-Western [Nigeria](/source/Nigeria).[1] On the 26 July 2016, suspected [Niger Delta militants](/source/Niger_Delta_Avengers) invaded the town, killing several people and destroying property.[2][3] Alimosho General Hospital is located along the Igando road leading to [Isheri egbeda road](/source/Egbeda).[4]

## Geography

Igando is a busy area in [Lagos State](/source/Lagos_State) due to its popular local markets and road dimension which leads to [Iyana-Iba](/source/Iyana-Iba,_Lagos_State), [Isheri Egbeda road](/source/Egbeda) and [Ikotun](/source/Ikotun).[5][6] Along the road leading from the Igando bus-stop to [Ikotun](/source/Ikotun) is where the Igando Community High School is located. [7] The [Lagos Bus Rapid Transit System](/source/Lagos_Bus_Rapid_Transit_System) is also located at the bus-stop of Igando.

### Market

It is surrounded with local markets being called Igando market, well known in the city of [Alimosho](/source/Alimosho), [Lagos state](/source/Lagos_state).[8]
