# I Never Knew You

***I Never Knew You*** is the second [extended play](/source/Extended_play) by American rapper [Cage](/source/Cage_(rapper)). Released by [Adult Swim](/source/Adult_Swim) and [Definitive Jux](/source/Definitive_Jux), the EP was released to promote Cage's album *[Depart from Me](/source/Depart_from_Me)* and the first music video from that album, "I Never Knew You", and contained four exclusive tracks. The title track, "I Never Knew You", appeared on the album *Depart from Me*.[2]

*I Never Knew You* was initially released as a free [digital download](/source/Music_download), but has since been released through digital stores.[2][3]

## Release

The EP was released in conjunction with the release of a [music video](/source/Music_video) for "I Never Knew You" directed by [Shia LaBeouf](/source/Shia_LaBeouf).[4][5] The video features actor [Dan Byrd](/source/Dan_Byrd) following a woman played by Scarlett Kapella.[4][5] The video was shot on location in downtown Los Angeles on February 21 and 22, and featured cameos from LaBeouf, [Alex Pardee](/source/Alex_Pardee), and [Definitive Jux](/source/Definitive_Jux) artists such as [El-P](/source/El-P), [Aesop Rock](/source/Aesop_Rock), Chauncey, F. Sean Martin and [Yak Ballz](/source/Yak_Ballz).[6]
