**IROC XII** was the twelfth year of [IROC](/source/IROC) competition took place in 1988. It saw the use of the [Chevrolet](/source/Chevrolet) [Camaro](/source/Camaro) in all races, and continued the format introduced in [IROC VIII](/source/IROC_VIII). Race one took place on the [Daytona International Speedway](/source/Daytona_International_Speedway), race two took place at [Riverside International Raceway](/source/Riverside_International_Raceway), race three ran at [Michigan International Speedway](/source/Michigan_International_Speedway), and race four concluded the year at [Watkins Glen International](/source/Watkins_Glen_International). [Al Unser Jr.](/source/Al_Unser_Jr.) won his second championship and $211,900.

1. [Dale Earnhardt](/source/Dale_Earnhardt) and [Geoff Bodine](/source/Geoff_Bodine) tied for fifth place in the championship standings, but Earnhardt was awarded the position due to a higher finishing position in the final race.
