# IK Tellus Bandy

**IK Tellus Bandy** is the [bandy](/source/Bandy) department of [IK Tellus](/source/IK_Tellus).

In bandy, the club had been playing in [Elitserien](/source/Elitserien_(bandy)), the first tier in the [Swedish bandy league system](/source/Swedish_bandy_league_system).[1] since the 2021/22 season, having been promoted from [Allsvenskan](/source/Allsvenskan_(bandy)).

When [IFK Kungälv](/source/IFK_Kung%C3%A4lv) was kicked out of top-tier [Elitserien](/source/Elitserien_(bandy)) from the [2016–17](/source/2016%E2%80%9317_Elitserien_(bandy)) season for not fulfilling the requirements for elite licence, IK Tellus was given their Elitserien spot.[2] Tellus was second last of the teams in Elitserien and had to play for re-qualification, and managed to qualify for the [2017–18 Elitserien](/source/2017%E2%80%9318_Elitserien_(bandy)) too.
