In [historical records](/source/history) the village was first mentioned in 1545. Before the establishment of independent [Czechoslovakia](/source/Czechoslovakia) in 1918, it was part of [Liptó County](/source/Lipt%C3%B3_County) within the [Kingdom of Hungary](/source/Kingdom_of_Hungary).
