The club was founded in 1945. The club's greatest achievement was winning the [Syrian Cup](/source/Syrian_Cup) in 2001. The club colours are blue and white. Their home stadium, Latakia Municipal Stadium, has a capacity of 28,000 spectators. The club is currently playing in [Syrian Premier League](/source/Syrian_Premier_League). ## History It was founded in 1945 in the city of [Latakia](/source/Latakia), although it sometimes plays at home in the capital [Damascus](/source/Damascus). They have never won the Premier League title, their most important title being the [Syrian Cup](/source/Syrian_Cup) won in 2001 after beating [Al-Jaish SC](/source/Al-Jaish_SC_(Syria)) 1–0 in the final in four finals they have played.[1] At the international level they have participated in the [AFC Cup Winners' Cup](/source/AFC_Cup_Winners'_Cup) in 2001, in which they were eliminated in the second round by the [Al-Shabab](/source/Al-Shabab_(Saudi_Arabia)) of [Saudi Arabia](/source/Saudi_Arabia) and in the [2001 Arab Club Champions Cup](/source/2001_Arab_Club_Champions_Cup), where they were eliminated in the first round.[2] ## Grounds Main articles: [Latakia Municipal Stadium](/source/Latakia_Municipal_Stadium) and [Latakia Sports City Stadium](/source/Latakia_Sports_City_Stadium) Latakia Municipal Stadium, home ground of Huteen Huteen, one of the most popular club in Latakia, plays his home matches with the [Tishreen Club](/source/Tishreen_SC) at [Latakia Municipal Stadium](/source/Latakia_Municipal_Stadium).
