# Husby Chapel

**Husby Chapel** (Norwegian: *Husby kapell*) is a [chapel](/source/Chapel) of the [Church of Norway](/source/Church_of_Norway) in [Nesna Municipality](/source/Nesna_Municipality) in [Nordland](/source/Nordland) county, [Norway](/source/Norway). It is located in the village of [Husby](/source/Husby,_Norway) on the southern shore of the island of [Tomma](/source/Tomma). It is an [annex chapel](/source/Annex_chapel) in the Nesna [parish](/source/Parish) which is part of the [Nord-Helgeland prosti](/source/Nord-Helgeland_prosti) ([deanery](/source/Deanery)) in the [Diocese of Sør-Hålogaland](/source/Diocese_of_S%C3%B8r-H%C3%A5logaland).[1]

The white, wooden chapel was built in a [long church](/source/Long_church) style in 1905 as a private farm chapel for the [Husby Estate](/source/Husby_Estate). The chapel seats about 60 people. It was [consecrated](/source/Consecrate) on 2 June 1905 as part of the [Dønnes Municipality](/source/D%C3%B8nnes_Municipality) parish and had 4 worship services each year.[2] It was transferred to [Nesna Municipality](/source/Nesna_Municipality) parish in 1962, and since 2005, it has six regularly scheduled [worship services](/source/Church_service) each year in addition to special events such as weddings or funerals.[3]
