The '''Howse River''' is a tributary of the [North Saskatchewan River](/source/North_Saskatchewan_River)<ref>{{cite web |last1=Oegema |first1=Bart |title=North Saskatchewan River |url=https://esask.uregina.ca/entry/north_saskatchewan_river.html |website=ESask |publisher=University of Regina |access-date=6 May 2024}}</ref> in western [Alberta](/source/Alberta), Canada.

The Howse River is a [braided river](/source/braided_river), with several streams crossing in its flood plain. It is formed when Freshfield, Forbes, David and Lagoon Creek unite and flow north to discharge into the North Saskatchewan River at [Saskatchewan River Crossing](/source/Saskatchewan_River_Crossing%2C_Alberta).

From the headwaters of Forbes Creek, the river has a total length of 33&nbsp;km.
