'''''House of Evil''''' ({{langx|es|'''Serenata macabra'''|4=Macabre Serenade}}, also released as '''''Dance of Death''''') is a 1972 Mexican [horror film](/source/horror_film) directed by [Luis Enrique Vergara](/source/Luis_Enrique_Vergara) and [Jack Hill](/source/Jack_Hill), and starring [Boris Karloff](/source/Boris_Karloff), [Julissa](/source/Julissa), [Andrés García](/source/Andr%C3%A9s_Garc%C3%ADa) and [José Ángel Espinoza](/source/Jos%C3%A9_%C3%81ngel_Espinoza).

This was the first in a cycle of four films Karloff made in a package deal with Mexican producer [Luis Enrique Vergara](/source/Luis_Enrique_Vergara).<ref name="karloff">Stephen Jacobs, ''Boris Karloff: More Than a Monster'', Tomahawk Press 2011 p 503-504</ref> The others are ''[Isle of the Snake People](/source/Isle_of_the_Snake_People)'', ''[The Incredible Invasion](/source/The_Incredible_Invasion)'', and ''[Fear Chamber](/source/Fear_Chamber)''. Karloff's scenes for all four films were directed by Hill in Los Angeles in the spring of 1968, while the rest of the films were completed in Mexico without either's involvement.<ref name="karloff" />

Morhenge Mansion, 1900. The dying Matthias Morteval invites his dysfunctional relatives to his home for a will reading. However, he dies, and soon the relatives are being murdered one by one by his robotic toys that are alive.
