The majority of Croats with surname Horvat live in the [Kajkavian](/source/Kajkavian) dialect region in [Croatia proper](/source/Croatia_proper). Apart from them, there is a certain number of [ethnic Serbs](/source/Serbs_of_Croatia) with surname Horvat in the [Baranja](/source/Baranya_(region)) region of Croatia.
