# Horst Floth

**Horst Floth** (24 July 1934 in [Karlsbad](/source/Karlsbad_(Baden)) – 5 October 2005 in [Feldafing](/source/Feldafing)) was a [West German](/source/West_Germany) [bobsledder](/source/Bobsled) who competed in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Competing in two [Winter Olympics](/source/Winter_Olympics), he won silver medals in the two-man event both in [1968](/source/1968_Winter_Olympics) and [1972](/source/1972_Winter_Olympics).[1]

Floth also won a gold medal in the two-man event at the [1970 FIBT World Championships](/source/FIBT_World_Championships_1970) in [St. Moritz](/source/St._Moritz).

A [hotelier](/source/Hotel) when he was not in [bobsleigh](/source/Bobsleigh), Floth died from [cancer](/source/Cancer) in 2005.
