# Hopin, Kachin State

**Hopin** (Burmese: *ဟိုပင်မြို့*; shn: *ဝဵင်းႁူဝ်ပၢင်ႇ*; also **Hobin**) is a town in [Mohnyin Township](/source/Mohnyin_Township), [Kachin State](/source/Kachin_State), in north-east [Myanmar](/source/Myanmar).[1] It is situated on the main [Mandalay](/source/Mandalay) – [Myitkyina](/source/Myitkyina) railway line, 745 miles north from [Yangon](/source/Yangon). It is on the road between [Mohnyin](/source/Mohnyin) and [Mogaung](/source/Mogaung) where the road to [Ywathit](/source/Ywathit,_Kachin_State) and [Indawgyi Lake](/source/Indawgyi_Lake) takes off. It is 27 miles by road from Indawgyi Lake[2] and 60 miles by road from [Sinbo](/source/Sinbo) which is located on the west bank of the [Ayeyarwady River](/source/Ayeyarwady_River).
