# Homilae

**Homilae** or **Homilai** (Ancient Greek: Ὅμιλαι) was a town in [Oetaea](/source/Oetaea) in [ancient Thessaly](/source/Ancient_Thessaly).[1] The town's name appears in an [epigraph](/source/Epigraphy) dated to 206/5 BCE as providing a [hieromnemone](/source/Hieromnemone) to the [Amphictyonic League](/source/Amphictyonic_League) on behalf of the [Aetolians](/source/Aetolians).[2]

Its site is at the modern site of Kouvelo Kastro/Kastro Orias.[3][4]
