'''Holste''' ({{IPA|de|ˈhɔlstə}}) is a municipality in the [district of Osterholz](/source/Osterholz), in [Lower Saxony](/source/Lower_Saxony), [Germany](/source/Germany).

It comprises three originally separate municipalities: Hellingst, Oldendorf and Steden, its name being a combination of those names.

It belonged to the [Prince-Archbishopric of Bremen](/source/Archdiocese_of_Bremen). In 1648 the Prince-Archbishopric was transformed into the [Duchy of Bremen](/source/Duchy_of_Bremen), which was first ruled in [personal union](/source/personal_union) by the Swedish and from 1715 on by the Hanoverian Crown. In 1823 the Duchy was abolished, and its territory became part of the [Stade Region](/source/Stade_(region)).
