'''Holmes Summit''' is a peak rising to {{Convert|1,875|m|-1}}, the highest elevation in the [Read Mountains](/source/Read_Mountains) of the [Shackleton Range](/source/Shackleton_Range) in Antarctica. It was photographed from the air by the [U.S. Navy](/source/U.S._Navy) in 1967 and was surveyed by the [British Antarctic Survey](/source/British_Antarctic_Survey) in the period 1968–71. In association with the names of geologists grouped in this area, it was named by the [UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee](/source/UK_Antarctic_Place-Names_Committee) in 1971 after Professor [Arthur Holmes](/source/Arthur_Holmes), after whom the [Holmes Hills](/source/Holmes_Hills) in Palmer Land were also named.<ref name=gnis/>
