**Holmes Reservation** is a conservation parcel located in [Plymouth, Massachusetts](/source/Plymouth,_Massachusetts). During the [American Revolution](/source/American_Revolution), the land was used as a [muster](/source/Muster_(military)) ground for the Plymouth [militia](/source/Militia_(United_States)#American_Revolutionary_War_(1775–1783)). The property is owned by [The Trustees of Reservations](/source/The_Trustees_of_Reservations), starting with a donation, with endowment, by the Holmes family (descendants of [John Holmes](/source/John_Holmes_(Messenger_of_the_Plymouth_Court)), an early settler of Plymouth and Messenger of the Court there) in 1944.[1]
