# Holmbridge

**Holmbridge** is a small village on the [A6024](/source/A6024_road) about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) to the southwest of [Holmfirth](/source/Holmfirth) and about 8 miles (13 km) south of [Huddersfield](/source/Huddersfield), in [West Yorkshire](/source/West_Yorkshire), England. It is in the parish of [Holme Valley](/source/Holme_Valley) and the [metropolitan borough](/source/Metropolitan_borough) of [Kirklees](/source/Kirklees).[1]

In the 1950s, it was a site in the [Survey of English Dialects](/source/Survey_of_English_Dialects).

On 6 July 2014, Stage 2 of the 2014 [Tour de France](/source/Tour_de_France) from York to Sheffield, passed through the village.[2]

The village has one pub, the Pickled Pheasant, one church, the [Parish Church of St David](https://www.holmbridgechurch.org.uk/), and a Village / Parish Hall.[3] The former [Four Inns Walk](/source/Four_Inns_Walk) started at St. David's Church.

Holmbridge Cricket Club, who play in the Huddersfield Cricket League,[4] are one of the village's central features.
