Hoffenheim is located in the [Rhine-Neckar](/source/Rhine-Neckar) metropolitan region, close to the [Neckar](/source/Neckar)tal-[Odenwald](/source/Odenwald) [nature park](/source/Neckartal-Odenwald_Nature_Park).  It is {{convert|3|km}} to the west of [Sinsheim](/source/Sinsheim), {{convert|6|km}} south of [Meckesheim](/source/Meckesheim) and only approximately {{convert|20|km}} from [Heidelberg](/source/Heidelberg).

==Sport==
Hoffenheim is the historic home to [football](/source/Association_football) club [TSG 1899 Hoffenheim](/source/TSG_1899_Hoffenheim) which currently plays in the [Bundesliga](/source/Bundesliga), Germany's top division, although the senior side now play their home games in the [Rhein-Neckar-Arena](/source/Rhein-Neckar-Arena), located in another Sinsheim suburb, [Steinsfurt](/source/Steinsfurt).
