'''Hiunchuli''' ({{langx|ne|हिउँचुली}}) is a [peak](/source/mountain) situated in the [Annapurna massif](/source/Annapurna_(mountain_range)) of the [Gandaki Province](/source/Gandaki_Province) in north-central [Nepal](/source/Nepal). The mountain is an extension of the [Annapurna South](/source/Annapurna_South). Between this peak and the [Machapuchare](/source/Machapuchare) is a narrow section of the [Modi Khola](/source/Modi_Khola) valley that constitutes the sole access to the [Annapurna Sanctuary](/source/Annapurna_Sanctuary).

Hiunchuli was first climbed in October 1971 by an expedition led by the [U.S. Peace Corps](/source/Peace_Corps) volunteer Craig Anderson.<ref>{{Cite aaj|article_id=12198223503|title=Hiunchuli, Southeast Face|last=Eric|first=Simonson|year=1982|volume=24|issue=56|pages=235|access-date=2025-07-10|archive-url=|archive-date=}}</ref> The mountain is classified as a [trekking peak](/source/trekking_peak) by the [Nepal Mountaineering Association](/source/Nepal_Mountaineering_Association) (NMA), but it is considered one of the more difficult trekking peaks to climb due to route finding difficulties and dangers from rock fall and seracs. A climbing permit from the NMA costs $70-250 USD per foreign climber depending on the season.<ref name=nma>{{cite web|url=https://nepalmountaineering.org/service-charges-for-foreign-climber-per-person-in-us-dollar|title=Service Charges for Foreign Climber per person in US dollar|publisher=Nepal Mountaineering Association|access-date=2025-07-10}}</ref>
