== History ==
The name "Hindlip" means 'Hind leap'.<ref>{{cite web|url=http://kepn.nottingham.ac.uk/map/place/Worcestershire/Hindlip|title=Hindlip Key to English Place-names|publisher=The University of Nottingham|access-date=29 May 2019}}</ref> Hindlip was recorded in the [Domesday Book](/source/Domesday_Book) as ''Hindelep''.<ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.domesdaybook.co.uk/worcestershire2.html#hindlip|title=Worcestershire E-L|publisher=The Domesday Book Online|access-date=29 May 2019}}</ref> Hindlip was "Hindehlep" in the 10th century, "Hundeslep" in the 12th century, "Hindelupe" in the 13h century and Henlipp in the 16th century.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://www.british-history.ac.uk/vch/worcs/vol3/pp398-401|title=Parishes: Hindlip|publisher=British History Online|access-date=29 May 2019}}</ref> On the 22nd of December 1886 Upper and Lower Smite Houses, a part of Warndon parish was transferred to the parish. The transferred area contained 5 houses in 1891.
