***Hey Kandi...*** is the debut solo studio album by American singer [Kandi Burruss](/source/Kandi_Burruss), released by [Columbia Records](/source/Columbia_Records) on September 19, 2000 (see [2000 in music](/source/2000_in_music)) in North America.

Co-produced by Kandi and [Kevin "She'kspere" Briggs](/source/Kevin_%22She'kspere%22_Briggs), It debuted at number 72 on the US [*Billboard* 200](/source/Billboard_200) and number 32 on the *Billboard* Top R&B/Hip-Hop albums chart. It spawned two singles with "[Don't Think I'm Not](/source/Don't_Think_I'm_Not)" and "[Cheatin' on Me](/source/Cheatin'_on_Me)".

As of September 2009, 260,000 units of the album have been sold in the United States and 325,000 units of the album worldwide.

## Background

After [Xscape](/source/Xscape_(band)) disbanded in 1998, Burruss broke away from singing for a while and focused on writing songs for other artists. In March 2000, Burruss was signed to [Columbia Records](/source/Columbia_Records), she began working on her debut album the same month with producer [Kevin "She'kspere" Briggs](/source/Kevin_%22She'kspere%22_Briggs). After she finished the album in July, she released her first single "[Don't Think I'm Not](/source/Don't_Think_I'm_Not)" the same month.

## Singles

- "[Don't Think I'm Not](/source/Don't_Think_I'm_Not)" was released as the first single from the album on August 18, 2000. The song reached number 24 on the [*Billboard* Hot 100](/source/Billboard_Hot_100) and number 32 on Billboard's [Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks](/source/Hot_R%26B/Hip-Hop_Singles_%26_Tracks). A music video was released in August 2000.
- "[Cheatin' on Me](/source/Cheatin'_on_Me)" was released as the second single from the album on January 16, 2001. The song saw minor to moderate success only with peak positions of number 72 on the [Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs](/source/Hot_R%26B/Hip-Hop_Songs) chart. A music video was released in August 2000.
