# Hermann Stitz

**Hermann Stitz** (24 December 1868 – 6 February 1947) was a [German](/source/German_people) [biologist](/source/Biologist) and [entomologist](/source/Entomologist). He was a specialist in [Hymenoptera](/source/Hymenoptera) especially [ants](/source/Ants) and [Neuroptera](/source/Neuroptera).[1] He worked mainly on the collections of the [Berlin Museum für Naturkunde der Humboldt-Universität](/source/Natural_History_Museum,_Berlin) including insects collected on the [German Central Africa Expedition 1910-11](/source/German_Inner_Africa_Research_Expeditions), and the [German-Soviet Alay-Pamir Expedition](/source/German-Soviet_Alay-Pamir_Expedition) of 1928[2][3] [4]
