'''Hermann Dorner''' (23 May 1882 &ndash; 6 February 1963) was a German pioneer of [aviation](/source/aviation). During the [First World War](/source/First_World_War) he was the chief designer at {{lang|de|[Deutsche Flugzeug-Werke](/source/Deutsche_Flugzeug-Werke)}} before he transferred to {{lang|de|[Hannoversche Waggonfabrik](/source/Hannoversche_Waggonfabrik)}} in 1916 where he designed two-seat combat aircraft for, most notably the [Hannover CL.II](/source/Hannover_CL.II) through [Hannover CL.IV](/source/Hannover_CL.IV) designs.
