**Herbert Strabel** (14 October 1927 – 21 October 2017)[1] was a German [production designer](/source/Production_designer), [art director](/source/Art_director#In_film) and [set decorator](/source/Set_decorator). He won an [Academy Award](/source/Academy_Awards) in the category [Best Art Direction](/source/Academy_Award_for_Best_Production_Design) for the film *[Cabaret](/source/Cabaret_(1972_film))*. He died a week after his 90th birthday.[2]
