Colombi [redshirted](/source/Redshirt_(college_sports)) his first year at Utah State and did not play.

The first collegiate game Colombi appeared in was in week 2 of the [2018 season](/source/2018_Utah_State_Aggies_football_team) against [New Mexico State](/source/2018_New_Mexico_State_Aggies_football_team) in relief of starter [Jordan Love](/source/Jordan_Love) in the 60–13 victory; he would finish the game 3-of-4 for 13 yards.
