# Henry Bay

**Henry Bay** ([66°52′S 120°45′E](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=66_52_S_120_45_E)) is a small [bay](/source/Bay) at the eastern end of the [Sabrina Coast](/source/Sabrina_Coast), Antarctica, with the [Henry Islands](/source/Henry_Islands) lying in its western part. The bay was delineated from aerial photographs taken by [U.S. Navy](/source/U.S._Navy) [Operation Highjump](/source/Operation_Highjump) (1946–47), and named by the [Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names](/source/Advisory_Committee_on_Antarctic_Names) for [Wilkes Henry](/source/Wilkes_Henry), a midshipman on the sloop *[Vincennes](/source/USS_Vincennes_(1826))* during the [United States Exploring Expedition](/source/United_States_Exploring_Expedition) (1838–42) under Lieutenant [Charles Wilkes](/source/Charles_Wilkes).[1][2]
