**Henri Rochereau** (25 March 1908 – 25 January 1999) was a French politician and [European Commissioner](/source/European_Commissioner).

Henri was the son of Victor Rochereau, a [National Assembly of France](/source/National_Assembly_of_France) *député* (deputy) for the [Vendée](/source/Vend%C3%A9e) [department](/source/Departments_of_France) (1914–1942). Henri worked as a solicitors clerk and later in an exporting business.

In the [1988 French presidential election](/source/1988_French_presidential_election), he supported the right-wing [National Front](/source/National_Front_(France)) candidate [Jean-Marie Le Pen](/source/Jean-Marie_Le_Pen).

- From 1949 to 1959 he was a member of the [Senate of France](/source/Senate_of_France) for the Vendée department and a council leader for the [canton](/source/Cantons_of_France) of [Les Essarts](/source/Les_Essarts%2C_Vend%C3%A9e)

- From May 1959 to August 1961 [Minister for Agriculture](/source/Minister_of_Agriculture_(France)) in the government of [Michel Debré](/source/Michel_Debr%C3%A9)

- From 1962 to 1970 he was [Overseas Development Commissioner](/source/European_Commissioner_for_Development_%26_Humanitarian_Aid) in the second [Hallstein Commission](/source/Hallstein_Commission), and from 1967, in the [Rey Commission](/source/Rey_Commission)

- From 1970 to 1986 he was President of the association of Large French Ports[1]
