**Joseph-Ernest-Henri LaRue** (15 February 1892 – 20 October 1973) was a [Conservative](/source/Conservative_Party_of_Canada_(historical)) member of the [House of Commons of Canada](/source/House_of_Commons_of_Canada). He was born in [Baie-des-Sables, Quebec](/source/Baie-des-Sables%2C_Quebec) and became a notary.

LaRue attended school at the Quebec Seminary, then [Université Laval](/source/Universit%C3%A9_Laval).[1]

He was elected to Parliament at the [Matane](/source/Matane_(federal_electoral_district)) riding in the [1930 general election](/source/1930_Canadian_federal_election). After serving only one term, the [17th Canadian Parliament](/source/17th_Canadian_Parliament), riding boundary changes resulted in LaRue seeking re-election at the new [Matapédia—Matane](/source/Haute-Gasp%C3%A9sie%E2%80%94La_Mitis%E2%80%94Matane%E2%80%94Matap%C3%A9dia) where he was defeated by [Arthur-Joseph Lapointe](/source/Arthur-Joseph_Lapointe) of the [Liberals](/source/Liberal_Party_of_Canada) in the [1935 federal election](/source/1935_Canadian_federal_election). LaRue made an unsuccessful bid to return to Parliament at Matapédia—Matane under the [National Government banner](/source/Conservative_Party_of_Canada_(historical)#National_Government_label) in the [1940 federal election](/source/1940_Canadian_federal_election).
