**Helmut Adalbert Mahlke** (27 August 1913 – 26 December 1998) was a highly decorated [Oberstleutnant](/source/Oberstleutnant) in the [Luftwaffe](/source/Luftwaffe) during [World War II](/source/World_War_II), and a recipient of the [Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross](/source/Knight's_Cross_of_the_Iron_Cross), the highest award in the military and paramilitary forces of Nazi Germany during World War II.
