**Hello Yerevan** ([Armenian](/source/Armenian_language): Բարև Երևան, [romanized](/source/Romanization_of_Armenian): *Barev Yerevan*), was a [political alliance](/source/Political_alliance) in [Armenia](/source/Armenia). It was led by [Armen Martirosyan](/source/Armen_Martirosyan_(Heritage)).[1]

## History

The Hello Yerevan alliance was established prior to the [2013 Yerevan City Council election](/source/2013_Yerevan_City_Council_election) with the intent to participate in the municipal elections.[2] The alliance mainly consisted of members from the [Heritage](/source/Heritage_(Armenia)) party and included some members from the [Democratic Way Party](/source/Democratic_Way_Party), the [Democratic Homeland Party](/source/Democratic_Homeland_Party), the [Conservative Party](/source/Conservative_Party_(Armenia)), and other political activists.[3]

[Raffi Hovannisian](/source/Raffi_Hovannisian), leader of the Heritage party launched the alliance's first-day of campaigning with a tree planting ceremony in central Yerevan. Meanwhile, [Armen Martirosyan](/source/Armen_Martirosyan_(Heritage)), also a member of the Heritage party, was nominated to lead the alliance and was the alliance's candidate for [Mayor of Yerevan](/source/Mayor_of_Yerevan).[4]

The alliance made clear that they were opposed to the rule of the [Republican Party of Armenia](/source/Republican_Party_of_Armenia) and announced that they would be open to working alongside other opposition parties, namely the [Armenian National Congress](/source/Armenian_National_Congress) and the [Armenian Revolutionary Federation](/source/Armenian_Revolutionary_Federation). However, both of these parties rejected cooperating with Hello Yerevan.[5]

Following the election, the alliance came in third place receiving 8.48% of the vote. The alliance won six seats in the [Yerevan City Council](/source/Yerevan_City_Council).

The alliance did not participate in any subsequent elections and has since dissolved.

## Ideology

The alliance campaigned on anti-[corruption](/source/Corruption) platform, pledging to eliminate the rule of oligarchs and increase government transparency. The alliance also vowed to improve urban planning, sanitation, and transportation in Yerevan.[6][7][8]
