**Helen Marie Chamberlain** (born 2 April 1967) is an English [television presenter](/source/Television_presenter), best known for presenting *[Soccer AM](/source/Soccer_AM)* on [Sky Sports](/source/Sky_Sports) for 22 years. She previously worked as a [holiday camp](/source/Holiday_camp) entertainer.

## Biography

Chamberlain was born in [Street, Somerset](/source/Street%2C_Somerset). She worked as a Bluecoat at [Pontins](/source/Pontins) holiday camp and an announcer at [Chessington World of Adventures](/source/Chessington_World_of_Adventures),[1] before becoming a club [disc jockey](/source/Disc_Jockey).[2]

She was discovered at Chessington by a producer for [Nickelodeon](/source/Nickelodeon_(British_and_Irish_TV_channel)), where she began presenting in 1994. She began presenting on [Sky Sports](/source/Sky_Sports)'s Saturday morning show *[Soccer AM](/source/Soccer_AM)* in 1995. She also guest presented on two former [Channel 4](/source/Channel_4) breakfast shows – *[The Big Breakfast](/source/The_Big_Breakfast)* (alongside [Johnny Vaughan](/source/Johnny_Vaughan)) and *[RI:SE](/source/RI%3ASE)* – and was a presenter for [Sky TV](/source/British_Sky_Broadcasting)'s dedicated Poker channel [Sky Poker](/source/Sky_Poker).[3] She also co-hosted on [Channel 5](/source/Channel_5_(British_TV_channel))'s late night sports programme *Live and Dangerous* during 1997.

Chamberlain left *Soccer AM* in August 2017, shortly before the start of the programme's 23rd season on air.[5]

After leaving Soccer AM, Chamberlain took a step back from TV to work on her farm, although in 2018 she appeared on *[Celebrity Catchphrase](/source/Catchphrase_(British_game_show))* and from 2022 to 2023, she hosted the World Seniors Darts Championship for [TNT Sports](/source/TNT_Sports_(United_Kingdom)).[6]

## Sports

A pub-league level [darts](/source/Darts) player when she was younger, Chamberlain claims to have once beaten [Eric Bristow](/source/Eric_Bristow) in a game of [darts-cricket](/source/Cricket_(darts)).[1]

Chamberlain finished second in the 2005 [Poker Million](/source/Poker_Million) tournament winning $400,000. She spent her winnings on buying a [Range Rover](/source/Range_Rover) for her boyfriend, and the racehorse Birkspiel.[7] The horse was trained by [Simon Dow](/source/Simon_Dow) at Clear Height Stables in [Epsom](/source/Epsom). On his first outing for the presenter, in April 2006, he won a €50,000 Group 3 race in [Baden-Baden](/source/Baden-Baden), Germany. One month later, he finished third in a Group 2 race in [Cologne](/source/Cologne), Germany. She owned the flat racer *Napoletano,* and also co-owned sprinter Merlin's Dancer who finished second in The Dash which is the race before [The Derby](/source/Epsom_Derby), in 2008. All three horses have now retired.[8]

Chamberlain is a [Torquay United](/source/Torquay_United_F.C.) fan.[9]
