***Heavy Metal Anthem*** is the eighth studio album by the Japanese [heavy metal](/source/Heavy_metal_music) band [Anthem](/source/Anthem_(band)), released on April 21, 2000. It was their first album since their disbandment in 1992. Most of the former members play on the album, but with the English singer [Graham Bonnet](/source/Graham_Bonnet) on vocals;[1] the original vocalist, [Eizo Sakamoto](/source/Eizo_Sakamoto), returned on the next album, *[Seven Hills](/source/Seven_Hills_(album)).* All of the songs are from Anthem's older releases, rerecorded and sung in English by Bonnet.[2] Bassist and principal songwriter Naoto Shibata recreated the songs with Bonnet's voice in mind, including the English lyrics.[3]
