***Heavy Bullets*** is a [roguelike](/source/Roguelike) [first-person shooter](/source/First-person_shooter) [video game](/source/Video_game) developed by [Brazil](/source/Brazil)-based indie developer [Terri Vellmann](/source/Terri_Vellmann) and published by [Devolver Digital](/source/Devolver_Digital). The game was released for [Microsoft Windows](/source/Microsoft_Windows), [OS X](/source/OS_X), and [Linux](/source/Linux) on 18 September 2014.

## Gameplay

*Heavy Bullets* is a [first-person shooter](/source/First-person_shooter) [video game](/source/Video_game). The [player character](/source/Player_character) is armed with a pistol and a low amount of ammunition which can be retrieved upon firing.[1] The player's objective is to battle through 8 levels and reset a security mainframe.[1][2][3] Levels are [procedurally generated](/source/Procedurally_generated).[1] Killing enemies rewards the player with money which can be used to purchase usable and passive items.[1] Upon death the player will not [respawn](/source/Respawn), a new play-through must be started.[4] Money can be deposited in a bank and will carry over to the next play-through, the player can also purchase insurance to save money and items if they die.[1][2][4]

## Development

Vellman originally began working on the title as part of a [game jam](/source/Game_jam).[4][5] The game uses the [Unity engine](/source/Unity_(game_engine)).[5] Music and sound was composed by American rapper [Doseone](/source/Doseone).[5] An early access build of the game launched on [Steam](/source/Steam_(service)) on 15 May 2014.[5] The full version of the game was released on 18 September 2014.[6]
