**Heaven Below** is an American [hard rock](/source/Hard_rock) band based in [Los Angeles](/source/Los_Angeles). The band's debut album *Countdown to Devil* was released March 2009.

## History

The band was formed in late 2007 by [Patrick Kennison](/source/Patrick_Kennison) ([Union Underground](/source/Union_Underground)), [Marty O'Brien](/source/Marty_O'Brien) ([Disturbed](/source/Disturbed_(band)), [We Are the Fallen](/source/We_Are_the_Fallen)) and session drummer [Chad Clark](/source/Chad_Clark_(drummer)) to film a video for Kennison's song "The Laughing Dead". In 2008 guitarist Dave Comer was added completing the quartet. Later that year Comer and O'Brien were replaced by guitarist Jesse Billson and bassist John Younger respectively.[2]

### *Countdown to Devil*

Following the release of *[Countdown to Devil](/source/Countdown_to_Devil)*, the group completed its first tour in mid-2009 dubbed the "Texas Takeover Tour".[3] Media coverage of the tour included a live performance on [FOX-TV](/source/KABB) in San Antonio, TX.[4]

In August 2010, the band released a [self-titled EP](/source/Heaven_Below_(EP)),[5] and led a tour dubbed the "Horns and Halos Tour" which spanned over much of the country and even Canada.[6] Before "[The Mirror Never Lies](/source/The_Mirror_Never_Lies_(song))" was released, Chad Clark left the band and was replaced by [Julien-K](/source/Julien-K) and [Dead by Sunrise](/source/Dead_by_Sunrise) drummer Elias Andra.[7][8]

### *Falling from Zero*

In 2012, the band released their second studio album *[Falling from Zero](/source/Falling_from_Zero)*[9] followed in 2013 by compilation album *Dos Diablos Digital Box Set*, acoustic album *[The Deadlight Sessions](/source/The_Deadlight_Sessions)* and cover album*Sleeping Giants*.[10] It was during the same year that percussionist Shad Wilhelm joined the ensemble, replacing Andra.

In the year following, the group advertised their limited edition coffin kits, containing an album entitled *Demonic Demos & Unsung Lullabies*. The CD, which contained previously unreleased tunes, an electric version of "Damaged" (published in 2013 on *[The Deadlight Sessions](/source/The_Deadlight_Sessions)*) as well as a cover of "[Nothing Else Matters](/source/Nothing_Else_Matters)" by [Metallica](/source/Metallica) was made available exclusively in the coffin kit.[11]

### *Good Morning Apocalypse*

In 2014, the band began working on what is to be their third [studio album](/source/Studio_album). In January 2015, the group posted a [photograph](/source/Photograph) on their [internet site](/source/Internet_site) with the words *[Good Morning Apocalypse](/source/Good_Morning_Apocalypse)*,[12][13][14] the title of their upcoming work.[15]

Some time after mid-2014, Billson left the ensemble, with Lucas Kanopa replacing him some time later.[15]

The band released the album on October 14, 2016.[16]

In late 2018, [Nikki Stringfield](/source/Nikki_Stringfield) of American rock bands [The Iron Maidens](/source/The_Iron_Maidens) and [Femme Fatale](/source/Femme_Fatale_(band)) became a touring guitarist for the ensemble.[17][18]

In April 2020, Kennison announced the release date of May 17, 2020, for upcoming cover album *Rest in Pieces*.[19]

On Sundays in February 2022, Stringfield and Kennison performed during their residency at [Hard Rock Cafe](/source/Hard_Rock_Cafe) in [Hollywood](/source/Hollywood%2C_Los_Angeles), [California](/source/California).[20][21]

### *The Majestic Twelve*

In late 2024, the ensemble plans to release *The Majestic Twelve*, their fourth studio album.[22] The album was released on July 22, 2025.[23]
