The first He Said album titled ''Hail'' was released by [Mute Records](/source/Mute_Records) in October 1986. It was produced by [Graham Lewis](/source/Graham_Lewis) and [John Fryer](/source/John_Fryer_(music))<ref name="discog">[http://www.mute.com/artists/publicArtistLoad.do?id=1883&forward=fullDiscography "Mute Records – He Said (Discography)"]{{Dead link|date=January 2020 |bot=InternetArchiveBot |fix-attempted=yes }}. In July 1988 Mute released the single ''Could You'', again produced by [Lewis](/source/Graham_Lewis) and [Fryer](/source/John_Fryer_(music)). This single was included on the last He Said album titled ''Take Care'' which was released by Mute the following year.<ref name="discog" />
