The **Hazelton Mountains** are a grouping of [mountain ranges](/source/Mountain_range) on the inland lee of the [Kitimat Ranges](/source/Kitimat_Ranges) of the [Coast Mountains](/source/Coast_Mountains) in northwestern [British Columbia](/source/British_Columbia), Canada, spanning the area of [Hazelton](/source/Hazelton%2C_British_Columbia) south to the [Nechako Reservoir](/source/Nechako_Reservoir). Defined by the British Columbia geographic names office, they span from the [Nass River](/source/Nass_River) to the [Nechako Plateau](/source/Nechako_Plateau), and between the Coast Mountains and the [Bulkley River](/source/Bulkley_River),[1] they are considered by geographers to be part of the [Interior Mountains](/source/Interior_Mountains) complex, though in local perspective they are considered to be part of the Coast Mountains. They are neighboured on the west by the [Kitimat Ranges](/source/Kitimat_Ranges) and on the east by the southernmost section of the [Skeena Mountains](/source/Skeena_Mountains); beyond the [Nass River](/source/Nass_River), which is their northern boundary, are the [Boundary Ranges](/source/Boundary_Ranges) of the [Coast Mountains](/source/Coast_Mountains). To their southeast is the [Nechako Plateau](/source/Nechako_Plateau), including the [Quanchus Range](/source/Quanchus_Range) on the near-island between [Ootsa](/source/Ootsa_Lake) and [Eutsuk Lakes](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Eutsuk_Lake&action=edit&redlink=1) of the [Nechako Reservoir](/source/Nechako_Reservoir) (the Quanchus may be considered to be part of the Hazelton Mountains in some classification systems).

The Hazelton Mountains consist of several subranges:[2][3]

North of the [Skeena River](/source/Skeena_River):

- [Nass Ranges](/source/Nass_Ranges), between the [Kitsumkalum](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Kitsumkalum_River&action=edit&redlink=1) (W) and [Kitwanga Rivers](/source/Kitwanga_River) (E). - The Nass Ranges include [Tseax Cone](/source/Tseax_Cone), a volcano which killed 2,000 Nisga'a people.

- [Kispiox Range](/source/Kispiox_Range), east of the [Kitwanga River](/source/Kitwanga_River) to the [Skeena River](/source/Skeena_River). - The town of [Hazelton, British Columbia](/source/Hazelton%2C_British_Columbia) is at the range's southeast corner.

South of the Skeena River and west of the Bulkley River:

- [Bulkley Ranges](/source/Bulkley_Ranges), the highest summit is [Seven Sisters Peaks](/source/Seven_Sisters_Peaks), 2,786 m (9,140 ft), southwest of [Kitwanga](/source/Kitwanga), and which is also the highest summit of the Hazelton Mountains. They include the: - [Bornite Range](/source/Bornite_Range) - [Howson Range](/source/Howson_Range), the highest summit of which is [Howson Peak](/source/Howson_Peak), 2,759 m (9,052 ft) - [O.K. Range](/source/O.K._Range) - [Rocher Déboulé Range](/source/Rocher_D%C3%A9boul%C3%A9_Range) - [Telkwa Range](/source/Telkwa_Range)

- [Tahtsa Ranges](/source/Tahtsa_Ranges), including the: - [Chikamin Range](/source/Chikamin_Range) - [Kasalka Range](/source/Kasalka_Range) - [Morice Range](/source/Morice_Range) - [Sibola Range](/source/Sibola_Range) - [Tochquonyalla Range](/source/Tochquonyalla_Range) - [Whitesail Range](/source/Whitesail_Range)

- [Pattullo Range](/source/Pattullo_Range)
