# Hazel Tubic

**Hazel Tubic** (born 31 December 1990) is a [New Zealand](/source/New_Zealand)–based [rugby union](/source/Rugby_union) player. She represents [New Zealand](/source/New_Zealand_women's_national_rugby_union_team) internationally and was a member of their [2017](/source/2017_Women's_Rugby_World_Cup) and [2021 Rugby World Cup](/source/2021_Rugby_World_Cup) champion sides. She plays for [Chiefs Manawa](/source/Chiefs_Manawa) in the [Super Rugby Aupiki](/source/Super_Rugby_Aupiki) competition.

## Rugby career

### 2011–2017

Tubic made her test debut for the [Black Ferns](/source/New_Zealand_women's_national_rugby_union_team) in 2011 against [England](/source/England_women's_national_rugby_union_team). She has also represented New Zealand in [rugby sevens](/source/Rugby_sevens). She was named in the squad for the [2017 Women's Rugby World Cup](/source/2017_Women's_Rugby_World_Cup).[1][2]

### 2022–2023

Tubic was named in the [Chiefs](/source/Chiefs_Manawa) squad for the inaugural season of [Super Rugby Aupiki](/source/Super_Rugby_Aupiki) in 2022.[3][4] She was called in as an injury replacement for the Black Ferns squad to the [2022 Pacific Four Series](/source/2022_Pacific_Four_Series).[5] In August, she was recalled into the team for the two-test series against [Australia](/source/Australia_women's_national_rugby_union_team) for the [Laurie O'Reilly Cup](/source/2022_Laurie_O'Reilly_Cup).[6][7]

Tubic made the Black Ferns 32-player squad for the [2021 Rugby World Cup](/source/2021_Rugby_World_Cup).[8][9] She rejoined [Chiefs Manawa](/source/Chiefs_Manawa) for the [2024 Super Rugby Aupiki season](/source/2024_Super_Rugby_Aupiki_season).[10][11]
