'''Haydn Inlet''' ({{coord|70|13|S|70|45|W|scale:1000000_source:GNIS|display=inline,title}}) is an ice-filled inlet indenting the west coast of [Alexander Island](/source/Alexander_Island), [Antarctica](/source/Antarctica), lying between [Mozart Ice Piedmont](/source/Mozart_Ice_Piedmont) and [Handel Ice Piedmont](/source/Handel_Ice_Piedmont). [Schubert Inlet](/source/Schubert_Inlet) lies to the south and the [Lassus Mountains](/source/Lassus_Mountains) are immediately north. Haydn Inlet is {{convert|27|nmi|km}} long and {{convert|12|nmi|km}} wide at the mouth, narrowing toward the head. It was first seen from the air and roughly mapped by the [United States Antarctic Service](/source/United_States_Antarctic_Service), 1939–41. It was resighted from the air and photographed by the [Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition](/source/Ronne_Antarctic_Research_Expedition), 1947–48, and remapped from these photos by [D. Searle](/source/D._Searle) of the [Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey](/source/Falkland_Islands_Dependencies_Survey) in 1960. The inlet was named by the [UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee](/source/UK_Antarctic_Place-Names_Committee) for [Joseph Haydn](/source/Joseph_Haydn), the Austrian composer.<ref name=gnis/>
