# Hawkeye, Missouri

**Hawkeye** is an [unincorporated community](/source/Unincorporated_area#United_States) in the northwest corner of [Pulaski County](/source/Pulaski_County,_Missouri), in the [U.S. state](/source/U.S._state) of [Missouri](/source/Missouri).[1] The Pulaski-[Camden](/source/Camden_County,_Missouri) county line is one-half mile to the west and the Pulaski-[Miller](/source/Miller_County,_Missouri) county line is one mile to the north. [Missouri Route U](/source/Missouri_Route_U) passes through the community. The community is on a ridge at an elevation of 1106 feet[1] at the head of the north flowing [Barren Fork](/source/Barren_Fork_(Brushy_Fork_tributary)), the northeast flowing [Clinkingbeard Creek](/source/Clinkingbeard_Creek) to the east and tributaries of west flowing [Deane Creek](/source/Deane_Creek) to the south and west.[2]

## History

A post office was in operation at Hawkeye from 1882 until 1955.[3] The community was so named on account of its lofty elevation.[4]
