'''Hasroun''' (also '''Hasrun''' or '''Hasroon''', [Arabic](/source/Arabic): حصرون ) is a village located in the [Bsharri District](/source/Bsharri_District) in the [North Governorate](/source/North_Governorate) of [Lebanon](/source/Lebanon). It is situated in the Valley of [Qadisha](/source/Qadisha), overlooking the southern branch of this valley, the Qannoubine Valley.

It owes its nickname of the ''Rose of Mount Lebanon'' <ref>{{Cite web |last=karenkaram |date=2017-01-10 |title=The Rose of the Mountain |url=https://365daysoflebanon.com/2017/01/10/the-rose-of-the-mountain/ |access-date=2023-08-02 |website=365 Days of Lebanon |language=en}}</ref> to its predominantly red-tiled roof houses. The population is [Maronite](/source/Maronite_Christianity_in_Lebanon) Catholic.

Hasroun gave the [Maronite Church](/source/Maronite_Church) two [Patriarch](/source/List_of_Maronite_Patriarchs)s, Patriarch [Jacob Aouad](/source/Jacob_Aouad) (1705-1733) and Patriarch [Simon Aouad](/source/Simon_Aouad) (1743-1756). From Hasroun came also the noted family of [orientalist](/source/oriental_studies)s, the Assemani, among them the famous [Giuseppe Simone Assemani](/source/Giuseppe_Simone_Assemani), author of ''Bibliotheca Orientalis'' and ''Ephraemi Syri opera omnia quae extant''.

==Demographics==
