== Early life ==

== Career ==
During his time at the University of East London, Khan worked as a trainee [civil engineer](/source/civil_engineer) at [Tower Hamlets Council](/source/Tower_Hamlets_Council), studying for his degree part-time.<ref name=":1" /> He later worked at [Transport for London](/source/Transport_for_London), becoming a senior manager before joining the Muslim Council of Britain.<ref name=":1" /><ref name=":0" /> Within the MCB, he has previously held the roles of Chair of the London Committee, Treasurer and Deputy Secretary General before being elected as Secretary General, initially in 2016.<ref name=":0" />
