'''Harry Bloomfield''' (1883&ndash;1950) was an Australian pioneering [rugby league](/source/rugby_league) footballer who played for the [New South Wales](/source/New_South_Wales_rugby_league_team) team. He was the first captain for the [NSWRFL](/source/NSWRFL) foundation club [Cumberland](/source/Cumberland_(rugby_league_team)) in the inaugural 1908 season. Bloomfield represented [New South Wales](/source/New_South_Wales_rugby_league_team) on two occasions in 1908.<ref>Alan Whiticker/Glen Hudson: Encyclopedia of Rugby League Players. 1995 ({{ISBN|1875169571}})</ref> For the second match of the [1908 Interstate series](/source/1908_Interstate_rugby_league_series), the first against [Queensland](/source/Queensland_rugby_league_team), Bloomfield was selected as New South Wales' fullback and kicked a goal in the Blues' victory. He was retained at fullback for the third game, another victory. The Cumberland club only lasted one year and Bloomfield then transferred to [Western Suburbs](/source/Western_Suburbs_Magpies) for the [1909 NSWRFL season](/source/1909_NSWRFL_season).

Bloomfield died at [Homebush, New South Wales](/source/Homebush%2C_New_South_Wales) on 12 July 1950, aged 67.<ref>Sydney Morning Herald: Death Notice. 13/7/1950</ref>
