**Haribhau Kisanrao Bagade** (born 17 August 1945) is an Indian politician currently serving as the 45th [Governor of Rajasthan](/source/Governor_of_Rajasthan) from 2024. He is from [Maharashtra](/source/Maharashtra) state. He was the Speaker of [Maharashtra Legislative Assembly](/source/Maharashtra_Legislative_Assembly) in 2014,[1] and he is a leader of [Bharatiya Janata Party](/source/Bharatiya_Janata_Party).

Haribhau Bagade was born in a [Maratha](/source/Maratha) [Kshatriya](/source/Kshatriya) family in Chitepimpalgaon village of [Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district](/source/Aurangabad_district%2C_Maharashtra).

Bagde, who has been an [Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh](/source/Rashtriya_Swayamsevak_Sangh) (RSS) activist & member since his childhood, was instrumental in increasing the presence of the [Bharatiya Janata Party](/source/Bharatiya_Janata_Party) (BJP) in the [Marathwada region](/source/Marathwada_region) and popularly known as “Nana” in political circles and till 1980 he was with the [Bharatiya Jana Sangh](/source/Bharatiya_Jana_Sangh).

He was first elected to Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha in 1985 from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar East seat.[2] He won 2014 MLA election against [Kalyan Kale](/source/Kalyan_Kale) of [Indian National Congress (INC)](/source/Indian_National_Congress) from [Phulambri](/source/Phulambri_(Vidhan_Sabha_constituency)) constituency,[3] and went on to win the 2019 assembly election as well from the same constituency.

When BJP installed its first government in Maharashtra in 2014, he was appointed Speaker of [Maharashtra Legislative Assembly](/source/Maharashtra_Legislative_Assembly). He is a former cabinet minister in [Government of Maharashtra](/source/Government_of_Maharashtra) and he came to be viewed as the BJP party’s rural face of Maharashtra state.

Haribhau Bagade was appointed [Governor of Rajasthan](/source/Governor_of_Rajasthan) by President [Droupadi Murmu](/source/Droupadi_Murmu) on 27 July 2024.[4]
