# Hardy Rocks

The **Hardy Rocks** ([66°16′S 67°17′W](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=66_16_S_67_17_W)) are insular rocks lying 2 nautical miles (4 km) west of [DuBois Island](/source/DuBois_Island), in the [Biscoe Islands](/source/Biscoe_Islands) of Antarctica. They were mapped from air photos taken by the [Falkland Islands and Dependencies Aerial Survey Expedition](/source/Falkland_Islands_and_Dependencies_Aerial_Survey_Expedition) (1956–57), and were named by the [UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee](/source/UK_Antarctic_Place-Names_Committee) for [James D. Hardy](/source/James_D._Hardy_(physiologist)), an American physiologist who has studied the reactions of the human body to cold environments.[1]
