# Haplothismia

***Haplothismia*** is a genus of [myco-heterotrophic](/source/Myco-heterotrophy) [plants](/source/Plant) in family [Burmanniaceae](/source/Burmanniaceae), first described as a genus in 1952. There is only one known species, ***Haplothismia exannulata***, [endemic](/source/Endemic) to southern [India](/source/India) ([Kerala](/source/Kerala) + [Tamil Nadu](/source/Tamil_Nadu)). The plant is [mycotrophic](/source/Mycotrophic), i.e. lacking [chlorophyll](/source/Chlorophyll) and obtaining sustenance from fungi in the soil.[1][2][3]
