**Hammouda Youssef Sabbagh** ([Arabic](/source/Arabic_language): حمودة يوسف الصباغ, [ALA-LC](/source/ALA-LC_romanization): *Ḥammūdah Yūsuf al-Ṣabbāgh*, born 10 February 1959)[1] is a Syrian politician who served as [Speaker](/source/List_of_speakers_of_the_parliament_of_Syria) of the [People's Council of Syria](/source/People's_Council_of_Syria) from 28 September 2017 until 12 December 2024.[2] He was the first [Assyrian Christian](/source/Assyrian_Christian)[3] to have held the post,[4] and overall the second Christian to hold that post since [Fares al-Khoury](/source/Fares_al-Khoury).[5] He was elected speaker of parliament with 193 votes out of 252.[5]

He was the last Speaker under the [Ba'athist regime](/source/Ba'athist_Syria), before the parliament was suspended after the [overthrow of Bashar al-Assad](/source/Fall_of_the_Assad_regime).
