# Hamish Simpson

**Hamish Crampton Simpson** (born 17 January 1976) is a former [Australian rules footballer](/source/Australian_rules_football) who played with [Geelong](/source/Geelong_Football_Club) in the [Australian Football League](/source/Australian_Football_League) (AFL).

Simpson, a defender, is from Queensland originally, playing his early football at [Kedron Grange](/source/Kedron_Grange_Football_Club). The next part of his career was spent in South Australia, where he played for [South Australian National Football League](/source/South_Australian_National_Football_League) (SANFL) club [Woodville-West Torrens](/source/Woodville-West_Torrens_Football_Club).[1]

Simpson came to Geelong via the [1996 AFL draft](/source/1996_AFL_draft) and made his first appearances in the [1998 AFL season](/source/1998_AFL_season).[2][3] After eight games that year, Simpson played another nine in [1999](/source/1999_AFL_season), including each of the last eight rounds.[3] In [2000](/source/2000_AFL_season) he played just one senior game and was delisted at the end of the year.[3]
