'''Hambergen''' ({{IPA|de|ˈhambɛʁɡn̩}}) is a municipality in the [district of Osterholz](/source/Osterholz), in [Lower Saxony](/source/Lower_Saxony), [Germany](/source/Germany). It is situated approximately 10 km north of [Osterholz-Scharmbeck](/source/Osterholz-Scharmbeck), and 25 km north of [Bremen](/source/Bremen).

It belonged to the [Prince-Archbishopric of Bremen](/source/Archdiocese_of_Bremen). In 1648 the Prince-Archbishopric was transformed into the [Duchy of Bremen](/source/Duchy_of_Bremen), which was first ruled in [personal union](/source/personal_union) by the Swedish and from 1715 on by the Hanoverian Crown. In 1823 the Duchy was abolished and its territory became part of the [Stade Region](/source/Stade_(region)).

Hambergen is also the seat of the ''[Samtgemeinde](/source/Samtgemeinde)'' ("collective municipality") [Hambergen](/source/Hambergen_(Samtgemeinde)).
