# Hall Cove

**Hall Cove** (Bulgarian: залив Хол, *Zaliv Hall* \'za-liv 'hol\) is the 2.85 km wide cove indenting for 1 km the northwest coast of [Nelson Island](/source/Nelson_Island_(South_Shetland_Islands)) in the [South Shetland Islands](/source/South_Shetland_Islands), [Antarctica](/source/Antarctica). Entered northeast of [Smilets Point](/source/Smilets_Point) and southwest of [Retamales Point](/source/Retamales_Point). The area was visited by early 19th century [sealers](/source/Seal_hunting).

The cove is named after John Hall of the [British Antarctic Survey](/source/British_Antarctic_Survey), for his support for the Bulgarian Antarctic programme.

Hall Cove is centred at [62°15′45″S 59°09′40″W](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=62_15_45_S_59_09_40_W). British mapping in 1968.
